Brampton Island is 32 kilometres (20 miles) north east of Mackay off Queensland's tropical coast, located in the Cumberland Group of islands which mark the southern entrance to the Whitsunday Passage. Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities to Mackay (MKY) daily, with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue. Mackay is approximately 1000 kilometres north of Brisbane and 700 kilometres south of Cairns.

Getting There
Flight Transfers: Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities to Mackay (MKY) with Jetstar (JQ), Qantas (QF) and Virgin Blue (DJ). Mackay is a 1 hour and 30 minute flight from Brisbane (or an 11.5 hours drive from Brisbane). Australian residents can check with Travel Online for the best available airfares.
Launch Transfers: 
A courtesy coach departs Mackay Airport at 11.00am to Mackay Marina. The launch departs Mackay Marina at 11.30am and arrives at Brampton Island at 12.45pm. The return trip from Brampton Island departs at 1.15pm and arrives at Mackay Airport (via the courtesy coach) at 3.00pm. Please note: The launch service operates daily except for Christmas Day.
Air Transfers: Australasian Jet depart Mackay Airport and Hamilton Island daily to Brampton Island. Approximate flight times are 15 minutes from Mackay and 25 minutes from Hamilton Island. A minimum of 2 passengers is required.
At the time of booking Brampton Island accommodation, guests must identify whether air or launch transfers are required. The guests arrival and departure details into Mackay will also need to be advised.
Baggage Allowance: Passengers are restricted to 20kg of luggage (15kg checked luggage, 5kg hand luggage). Please note soft-sided baggage is preferred.

What to bring to Brampton Island
Dress on Brampton Island Resort is 'island casual' during the day. Casual resort and beach wear such as shorts and a shirt for men and sarongs for ladies are ideal. Footwear is required in bars and restaurants. Smart casual attire with appropriate footwear is expected in the evening - trousers or shorts for men. You may wish to wear a Hawaiian shirt or a sarong on Beach Barbecue nights.
Tips for travelling to Brampton Island
- Check in time is 2.00pm. If you are arriving on a helicopter flight before 2.00pm, we recommend that you carry a 'day bag' with swimming costumes etc. Change rooms and shower facilities are available in the Departure Lounge
- Credit card details will be required on arrival to set up room charge accounts. All major cards accepted.
- Reception Hours 8.30am - 5.30pm
- Complimentary guest laundry and ironing boards (powder can be purchased from the resort shop)
